Information Sent Through Forms
Information entered into a name, phone, or address search is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Ceres Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search entries on its own servers. A message sent through a contact channel contains the details the sender chooses to include, and those details are used to respond.
Automatic Log Information
Hosting services may record ordinary technical logs, including IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. Those records may be reviewed in aggregate for reliability, traffic, and security. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical and contact information is used to operate the reference, answer messages, diagnose faults, understand general page use, and improve the records links for Ceres. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the limited information described here.
Outside Links and Services
The reference links to county and state portals, libraries, archives, courts, and sponsored search tools. A person who follows one of those links is subject to that provider’s privacy terms. The provider of a sponsored result controls what is submitted, retained, or returned through its own service.
Who May Receive Information
Hosting, analytics, and advertising providers may process the technical information described above to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor list or used to create an individual record profile.
Security and Retention
The reference is served over an encrypted connection, and technical logs are retained only for the operational purposes that require them. There are no reader accounts, passwords, or personal profiles stored here. No security practice can promise absolute protection, but collection is kept narrow.
People Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information directly, contact the operators so the information can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code section 1798.100 and following, may give a qualifying consumer rights to know, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information use, and receive equal treatment. Because Ceres Residents Directory keeps very little, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to make a request.
The California data-broker provisions in Civil Code sections 1798.99.80 and following support the state’s DROP platform, which can send a deletion request to registered data brokers. That process does not remove a deed, court file, voter record, vital record, or city document held by its government custodian. Requests for those records go to the Stanislaus County or Ceres office that keeps them. Public-record access is governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 and following, and by record-specific laws.
Changes to This Policy
When the collection or use described here changes, an updated version will be posted on this page. Continuing to use Ceres Residents Directory after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
